STMA Volleyball

This program is designed to introduce volleyball to girls in 1^st thru 5^th grade.  Our Goal as a Youth Development Program is to provide the opportunity for girls to experience the sport of volleyball at a beginning level.  They will be provided with the skills, knowledge and understanding of the game to the best of their ability.  Teamwork and other life skills will also be taught.  They will be challenged to improve their skill level and to try new techniques that will enable them to perfom to the best of their ability.

1st & 2nd Grades:

The girls will practice on Sunday evenings from 5:15 - 7:00 at the High School Activity Center. Practice starts Nov 20th and goes until the middle of Feb.  Each player will receive a t-shirt that they can wear to each practice. We hope to have a inter-team scrimmage towards the end of the season to introduce the players on how a match is actually played. We have also purchased some new lighter volleyballs that the girls will work with.

Coaching Staff: 
Ms. Jill Anderson:  the Assistant High School volleyball coach and a Physical Education teacher at the High School.

3rd - 5th Grade:

The girls will mainly practice on Sunday evenings from 5:15 - 7:00 at the High School Activity Center.  In the 1st few weeks of the season we are going to have 1 practce on a week night.  This practice is not known at this time and will not be a set night.  These extra practices are not mandatory and if your daughter is in another activity that is great.  Practrice starts Nov 20th.  Each player will receive a t-shirt that they are to wear to each playdate.  We hope to make each team as colorful as last year.

There will be 3 playdates that the girls will participate in.  1 in St. Michael and 2 at Ralia Sports Center (Maple Grove).  The Ralia events could either be on a  Sat or Sun we will not know until the Wed. before the event.  Unfortunately that is how the playdates run.
